      MARIA ATHANASATOS

      Age : 26

      Location : Sydney, Australia

      Occupation : Librarian - Company

Favourite TV shows: Babylon 5, NYPD Blue and The Bill

Favourite Hamish : West Coast Story(1) Isobel Pulls it Off(2) and Destiny II(3)

      DAVID BELL

      Age : 36

      Location : Northbridge, Sydney, Australia

Occupation : MD of a lobbying and financial communications company based in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and headquartered in New York

Favourite TV shows: Pie in the Sky, Heartbeat and Ballykissangel

Favourite Hamish : sounds a bit morbid - when wee Jock passes into the next life.

      Elsa Black

      Age : 35

      Location : Librarian

      Occupation : Phoenix, Arizona

Favourite TV shows: I've not seen any of the Hamish episodes and have become resigned that they will probably never be shown on TV in America because Hamish smokes DOPE!!! And we all know good people do not use drugs. So I'm looking for videos. I'm the one who saw them in a catalog and then lost the catalog. On the other hand I've read all the Hamish books, love them, and wait impatiently for the next one in the series. (Due in July or August). I almost talked someone out of an advanced reading copy of Death of a Dentist, but she wouldn't give it up.Ok-my favorite TV shows: The Pretender-gotta love Miss Parker, she is SO bad.Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys-(Sunday morning cartoon with mycoffee and bagels, nobody talks while captain simian is on). Otherwise, not to much tv other than the occasional episode of Millenium and X-files. You know: So many books, so little time!

      James Carter

Age : The second even number followed by the second odd number

Location : Edinburgh, Scotland (and shortly to be on holiday just north of Plockton). But I maintain a fierce, yet sometimes I fear misguided, loyalty to being English, not Scottish

Occupation : Writer of guidebooks, exhibtion panels etc for nature reserves and historic places. Trainer of countryside rangers and museum staff to do the same. It's called 'being and interpreter' in the trade, but I find I usually have to explain it!

Favourite TV shows: The Jewel in the Crown (currently repating on Channel 4 in the UK)

Favourite Hamish : series 1: The one with headlamp kicking episodeseries 2: Radio Lochdubhseries 3: Deferred Sentence

      Chandra Clarke

      Age : 25

      Location : Canada, eh?

Occupation : Managing editor of a weekly paper

Favourite TV shows: Hamish Macbeth, Due South, Star Trek

Favourite Hamish : season 1:West Coast Story season 2:No Man is an Island season 3:the two part finaleFavourite Hamish episode *ever* (if you can pick one): it's a tie between No Man and the finale. Good stuff all around!

      Noeleen Crispo

      Age : 33

Location : Sydney and Armidale, NSW, Australia

Occupation : Univ. student; ex-library assistant

Favourite TV shows: Babylon 5 Any of the Star Treks The Professionals (it was a toss up with Blake's Seven but I thought I better put in a non-Science fiction show :-))

Favourite Hamish : You do like to make life hard . Keeping in mind that I haven't seen season 3, if push comes to shove, I'll have to say "Isobel Pulls It Off"BTW, the student part is a BA in Archaeology and Ancient History

      Gali Diamant

      Age : 27

      Location : Tel-Aviv, Israel

Occupation : I work as a computer programmer, and spend most of my days at work

Favourite TV shows: Due south, X-files and ER. I loved northern Exposure when we had it, especially the early years

Favourite Hamish : It's been a long time since I watched it, so I don't remember the details. I remember laughing hard at the Great LochDubh Salt Robbery, so I guess this will be a default answer. It might change after I watchthe series again (which should be soon).

      Ruth French

      Age : 33

      Location : Cambridge, England

Occupation : Primary school teacher ( ages 4-11 for those abroad who don't know what that means!) I also design educational software for odd people (the BBC included) and my other "part time " jobs include organising the music and drama in my church, and writing drama books. I'm also married, but don't see much of my other half ( a computer programmer, yawn) due to all the above!

Favourite TV shows: Northern Exposure, Friends, Pride and Prejudice

Favourite Hamish : series 1 A West Coast Story series 2 No Man is an Island series 3 Stone of Destiny

Favourite Hamish : I'm hopeless at remembering the names of them - the one with the lobsters in Series 1

      Belinda Holdsworth

Age : Hmmm Old enough to know better (officially) 34 (unofficially and I will deny it if *ever* repeated! :-D

      Location : Sydney, Australia

      Occupation : Fraud Analyst

      Favourite TV shows: Hmmmmm, Due South (1st season particularly)Northern Exposure, Bab 5 / X-Files (can't decide!) :-D

Location : I live in Melbourne, Australia but as born in London, England. Have lived here since I was 13, so I guess I'mpretty Ozzified by now. I'm currently studying full-time at Melbourne University on a scholarship, I'm doing a PhD. in English Lit./Cultural Studies on 'Spurious Sequels' or in other words sequels written/directed by someone other than the original author/director. I chose this topic so that I could spend the next three years indulging my two passions, reading and watching movies, pretty cool huh?

Occupation : I am a single (divorced) mother of three teenage boys - - yes, I suffer from terminal insanity.

Favourite TV shows: TV - XFiles (sorry, but I love the way the show has shifted into self-parody mode lately)Seinfeld, Northern Exposure (which, together with Hamish of course, sustained me through the last four years while I was doing my BA), Cracker.

Favourite Hamish : can't choose, love them all, I picked some for the survey, but it was a pretty arbitrary choice.

      Jim Inkster

Age : 50+ (Does that make me the geezer of the list?)

Location : Osgoode,Ontario (a rural township south of Ottawa)

Occupation : I develop network planning software.

Favourite TV shows: 1. The Australian police series "Phoenix", and the related courtroom series "Criminal Justice" (called "Janus" in Oz, I think). 2. "Between the Lines", a UK police series. 3. And my wife says I have to include "Due South", although it's really her choice (I would have chosen "The Newsroom", a series produced by the CBC that's a *really* nasty satire of the CBC news organization -- go figure).

Favourite Hamish : "The Great Lochdubh Salt Robbery", "Isobel Pulls it Off", "The Trouble with Rory",but on another day, I might just pick a different three, it's so hard to choose.

Location : Sidcup, Greater London, UK

Occupation : Ex-student, soon-to-be library clerk, currently unemployed.

Favourite TV shows: A very difficult choice but I would have to say... ER, Homicide, This Life. If I could I would also include Friends, Due South, NX, X-Files, Caroline In The City, The Simpsons, Tales Of The City, etc etc......

Favourite Hamish : Season1 - "A Bit Of An Epic" Season 2 - "Radio Lochdubh" Season 3 - "Destiny"Favourite Hamish episode *ever*: I set this survey and I can't even pick one! Bit of a pointless question to ask a group of Hamishophiles who love every episode of every season...

      Nadine Killiard

      Age : 22

Location : Just outside Glasgow in Scotland (aren't I the lucky one

      Occupation : Graduate Student

Favourite TV shows: Due South, Press Gang, Rugrats (I presume we weren't counting Hamish)

Favourite Hamish : season 1: Raspberry Ripple Mob (So many classic lines!) season 2: The Man Before The Man Before Macbeth season 3: Undecided as of yet as I've still to see someFavourite Hamish episode *ever* (if you can pick one): Too difficult! but if I had to probably the Loch Dubh Deluxe...soooo black!

Location : Toronto (North York), Ontario

Occupation : Student (York University-Department of Theatre)

Favourite Hamish : Series One: "West Coast Story" or "A Bit of an Epic" Series Two: "Isobel Pulls It Off" Series Three: one of "Proper Officer" (can't remember the exact title, but the one where the visiting young women comes to Lochdubh and Hamish has to take those cold showers) or "The Stone of Destiny"Favourite all time episode: "The Stone of Destiny"

Favourite TV shows: Hamish, Heartbeat, The Bill, Minder, Shoestring, EastEnders.

Favourite Hamish : Obviously I haven't seen S3 yet, but my favourite so far would have to be "A Bit Of An Epic" (that's the one where Wee Jock #1 dies, right?), because of all its mythology regarding the old Scottish traditions of premonitions and ghosts etc...excellent stuff!

I also love loads of Brit. comedies (Fawlty Towers, Drop the Dead Donkey, Black Adder and Doctor in the House are favorites) but don't care much for US ones other than Third Rock From the Sun. Sorry, folks, I don't like Babylon 5 andhaven't seen Ballykissangel. I only saw a few episodes of Due South and wasn't crazy about it but did come to enjoy it the more I watched.

Favourite Hamish : It's really tough to choose favorite episodes of Hamish. I think my overall favorite is "A Perfectly Simple Explanation" because I was sure I would hate it when it began and the ending had me LOL so much, plus I like Philip Jackson (Robin of Sherwood) and Ron Donachie (Take the High Road) and it was such a surprise to see them here. I also love "Wee Jock's Lament," "Isobel Pulls it Off" and "Stone of Destiny" (part 2, if I must choose). I like the very funny or the very spiritual episodes best.

In a nutshell, my real name's Rhonda

      Age : 33

Location : . I've been in Toronto since '79, but was born in Australia

      Occupation :

Favourite TV shows: The X-Files, watch too many other shows to list but I will mention that "Due South" is a fave as well (yet another mother-inspired choice, the woman's got great taste, just don't tell her I told you so).

      Favourite Hamish :

      Suzanne

      Age : 38

      Location : Hamilton, Ontario, Canada

Occupation : Bookkeeper (currently staying at home with my two children)

Favourite TV shows: Robertson X-files, ER and Home Improvement ****Used to enjoy watching "Cracker" with Robbie Coltrane

Favourite Hamish : episode season 1: The Great Lochdubh Salt Robbery season 2: No Man is An Island season 3: More than A GameFavourite Hamish episode *ever* (if you can pick one): Would definitely have to be the final two episodes of Hamish "Destiny" Parts 1 and 2. But I won't spoil the fun for those of you who have not seen it by describing why ;-)

      Rachel Shave

      Age : 37

Location : Geraldton, Western Australia (400km north of Perth) and in the middle of a desert (according to Belinda - yes, she of the list)

Occupation : Part-time receptionist for an orthopaedic surgeon which enables me to feed my husband, our cat and myself while I study a doule major in English Lit and Communications, (part-time external) at Murdoch University (in Perth).

Favourite TV shows: Due South(thanks to same Belinda who sucked me right into this one. Tied me down for the first few episodes. After that, the handcuffs became unnecessary and I became a willing victim. So much for strength of character ); The Sentinel; Babylon 5.But you can include all those British Crime shows: Cracker; Morse; Frost; Taggart; Prime Suspect; Between the Lines. Haven't seen any Dalziel & Pascoe yet although there was an ad for the show in the not too distant future. I enjoy the books so am looking forward to it. I've also been a Trekker for years now, although I don't watch the current seriesreligiously. Unlike Babylon 5. My husband, John (38) is another big Hamish Fan and Babylon 5 fan (I sucked him in to the later). Due South he can watch once in a Blue Moon; The Sentinal annoys the dickens out of him, as does Cracker (how can thosepolice act like that? They would have been thrown out of the force! They wouldn't have got the job etc etc)

Favourite Hamish : (verrrry, verrrry difficult)Season 1 The Great Salt Robbery - Because I fell in love from the opening poaching scenes. But coming in second is Radio Lochdubh (those book reading scenes in the bar juxtaposed with Alexis' foolish, foolhardy attempts to transmit her reading which results in a great many people suffering - herself included). Season 2 Isabel Makes Good (I know that isn't the title - I am hopeless at things like that. But you know the one, where she has the makeover and chucks out all her stuffed toys (well, except the one)).Seson 3. Not applicable. Sob :-.......( Looking forward to seeing them before too long

      Dave Sinclair

      Age : 26

      Location : Sydney, Australia

      Occupation : Postgraduate Student

Favourite TV shows: Good News Week, Duckman (no longer shown in Australia, unfortunately), local rugby matches (I know that probably doesn't count as a "TV show", but I don't watch very much TV)

Favourite Hamish : episode season 1: A Bit of an Epic season 2: Radio Lochdubh season 3: haven't seen it yet. Favourite Hamish episode *ever* (if you can pick one): Radio Lochdubh

      David Smith

Age : 42 (phew! I'm not the oldest on this list.)

      Location : Barrie, Ontario, Canada

Occupation : : Office Manager (I'm married to my boss) and stay-at-home Dad

Favourite TV shows: Prime Suspect, Homicide: Life on the Streets, Inspector Morse

Favourite Hamish : Hamish episodes: Season 1_Wee Jock's Lament Season 2___Radio Lochdubh Season 3_Anything without that wretched Frankie!!!Favourite Hamish scenes: Isobel and Hamish by the lake in Radio Lochdubh, final scene of wee Jock's Lament

      Barbara Spence (aka Barb)

      Age : 34

      Location : Oxford, UK

Occupation : Well my title is Reprographics Administrator, but it doesn't mean anything. I mostly write my School's web pages and draw, um, drawings (on my PC) for technical papers and exams. I'm also Senior Warden at one of the Uni's halls of residence (and I'm a very nice one too, as can be witnessed by my staying up til 1.00 am last night - at my advanced age this is not to be done when there's work in the morning - with a student who needed to talk, and the fact that I'm letting two of them sleep in my spare bed on Friday to avoid having to pay an extra night's fee at the end of term).

Favourite TV shows: >Oh blimey. Homicide, 3rd Rock from the Sun and This Life.I also love ER (it's just finished, I'm really pining, I'm in love with George, and this would replace This Life in my top 3 if ER was still running), NE, DS, Babylon 5, Pie in the Sky, Star Trek (all of them except the original - it's not that I don't like it, it's just that I've seen each ep so many times, I'm not bothered if I don't see it), and The Fast Show. There's bound to be something else, too, that's not showing just now so I can't remember it. Ah, yes, Friends. Returns tomorrow.>Favourite episode of Hamish:Blimey. Can't think of one. I have had this with the DS list. I just can't pick only one. I knew I'd forget one. Add Ballykissangel to my list of potential top 3 shows. And the X-Files and Milennium.>

      Favourite Hamish :

      Jane Starr

      Age : 38

      Location : Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Occupation : Technical Services Librarian, Alberta Agriculture, Food and Rural Development/Public Works, Supply and Services Library AND Art Director, On Spec magazine (science fiction)

Favourite TV shows: Babylon 5, X-Files, pretty much anything on PBS's Mystery series, even when I hate the way they've translated it to the screen (thought Cadfael was botched, except for the divine Sean Pertwee, and even he wasn't quite right for the part)

Favourite Hamish : Haven't seen the TV series yet. Love the books, though.

      Adrienne Stevenson

      Age : 43 alas

      Location : Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

      Occupation : Chemist

Favourite TV shows: McCallum, Frost, Deep Space 9 [as opposed to B5 which is ok but a wee bit too much gratuitous violence for my taste] - generally, any mystery, history, comedy or sf is likely to attract at least one look!

Favourite Hamish : Season 1 - The Great Lochdubh Salt Robbery Season 2 - A Perfectly Simple Explanation Season 3 - The Honourable Policeman[sorry, couldn't just pick one! - and, for some reason, although I loved the later episodes, it's the early ones in each season that hit the longest lasting high notes for me]

      Nicola Ure

      Age : 24

      Location : Swindon, England

      Occupation : Software Developer

Favourite TV shows: Due South, The X Files, Friends (in no particular order)

      Lisa Warrington

      Age : 45

      Location : Dunedin, New Zealand

Occupation : University Lecturer, Theatre Studies

Favourite TV shows: Good grief! And I assume you mean, apart from Hamish MacBeth? Hard to choose, but three I enjoy: Due South, South Bank Show, Pride and Prejudice

Favourite Hamish : season 1: West Coast Story season 2: No Man is an Island season 3: The Honorable PolicemanFavourite Hamish episode *ever* (if you can pick one): Um - Radio Lochdubh. And most of season two was brilliant.
